Colonies may be over one meter across. That are flabello-meandroid with exsert septa which plunges near the valley center. There are no columellae and polyps have large tubular tentacles with pale tips.
Forms flabello-meandroid colonies (Ref. 847). Found in shallow, turbid environments and are commonly attached to vertical surfaces (Ref. 847). Has high bleaching level in Palau (Ref. 66144).

Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end (Ref. 833).
