						Females are 0.8 to 1 cm in length and 1.1 to 1.5 cm in width.  In both live and preserved specimens, they are whitish-yellowish in color and have tiny dark visible eyes.  Its antennae is absent or strongly reduced and the pereopods are small.  Oostegites large flaps forming completely enclosed marsupium, which contains thousands of embryos.  Males on the other hand are 0.3 to 0.5 in length.  They are whitish in color and have visibly small elongated eyes.  Pereon segments with small pereopods.  Pleotelson is very small, that looks like an inflated tubercle.					
				
				
						
			
			
			
			
				
					It is parasitic on ghost shrimp Neotrypaea uncinata found on sand flats, where it inhabits the branchial chamber (Ref. 87801).

					Members of the order Isopoda are mostly gonochoric.  Mating behavior:  Mating usually occurs before and sometimes during the parturial molt.  Sperm transfer is indirect.  Life cycle:  Eggs are brooded in the marsupium, which later hatch into manca postlarva before developing into adults.
