Height: 10 - 15 cm. Tubes almost as wide as tall. Green with yellow and bluish spots externally, yellow internally. Surface with ridges: 0.2 - 0.4 cm high; that run parallel, or sinuously. Soft in consistency. Turns black when taken out of water (Ref. 415).
Open reef, rare (Ref. 415). Inhabits heavily silted lower mesophotic reefs (Ref. 128739).

Members of the class Demospongiae are hermaphroditic. Life cycle: The zygote develops into parenchymella larva (free-swimming) before settling down on a substrate where it grows into a young sponge.
