Common along the shelf. Inhabits gastropod shells, typically with actinian or zoanthid polyp attached to the shell, or in carcinoecia formed by colonies of Epizoanthus sp. Young individuals have been found in scaphopod shells (Ref. 123237).

Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
