Lives in pairs in excavated large burrows in the sediment of tropical seagrass beds. Associated with amphipods, shrimps, bivalves, polychaetes and fishes. Observed to capture drifting seagrass leaves, which are then pulled and incorporated into its burrows. Isotopic signature implies seagrass as its primary food source (Ref. 98748).
