Short description Morphology

5.7 cm wide; the dome-like apex with 6 to 8 large and about 30 small, round protuberances, surrounded by a wide annular furrow; no marginal lappets; mouth-arms dichotomous, each with four long filaments; numerous very small filaments among the mouths; 7 inter-rhopalar canals in each octant.

Members of the class Scyphozoa are gonochoric. Life cycle: Egg is laid by the adult medusa which later develops into a free-living planula, then to a scyphistoma to a strobila, and lastly to a free-living young medusa.
