Comments: Most common off South Island and the west coast of North Island (Ref. 1394). Known from West coast of North Island from Kaipara (36°21'S) south to Palliser Bay (41°26'S) and all coasts around South Island except Fiordland between Milford Sound (167°31'S) on the south coast. This is not recorded from Stewart Island (Ref. 1522).
