Description of life cycle and mating behavior Members of the superorder Acrothoracica are gonochoric and sexually dimorphic, males are smaller in size. Eggs are brooded in the mantle cavity. Life cycle: Eggs hatch into nauplii which are released into the water when they reach the cypris stage, they then find a suitable substratum afterwhich females metamorphose into adults while the males kept attach to the females before they metamorphose into adults.
