Definition of Term

(English) A derivation in form or behavior from what is perceived to be normal. In the Code, a term which, if used to denote a number of individuals within a species, unequivocally signifies infrasubspecific rank. (See also: aberrant, Code, infrasubspecific)
(French) Une dérivation de forme ou comportement de ce qui est perçu normal. D’après le Code, un terme qui, s’il est employé pour désigner un ou un certain nombre d’individus au sein d’une espèce, indique sans ambiguïté un rang infrasubspécifique. (See also: aberrant, Code, infrasubspecific)
