Family:  Delphinidae (marine or true dolphins)
Max. size:  230 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 143 kg
Environment:  pelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 5425 m
Distribution:  Atlantic Ocean. Tropical and warm temperate waters.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Their tropical to warm temperate distribution is mostly over the offshore continental shelf; they also inhabit some deep oceanic waters (Ref. 1394). Feeds on a wide variety of fishes and squids (Ref. 1394).
