Family:  Veneridae (venus clams)
Max. size:  7.5 cm SHL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 55 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from western India to Papua New Guinea; north to Taiwan Province of China and the south China Sea, and south to New South Wales.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Collected for subsistence in the northern part of the area. Only P. sinuosa is present in the western part of the Indian Ocean; exploitation in this area not known (Ref. 348).
