Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 2 - 4 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific and the Red Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Depth range is based on occurrence in Madagascar (Ref. 100693). Eulittoral, on sand (Ref. 128042), and is known to be abundant on rocky intertidal areas (Refs. 105919, 128042). Members of the family Cerithiidae are herbivore-deposit feeders (Ref. 1385). Also found in mangrove areas, part of both epibenthic and arboreal communities (Ref. 128397).
