Family:  Melongenidae (Melongenas)
Max. size:  20.5 cm DL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 7 - 18 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: Mexico.
Diagnosis:  Shell left-handed (or sinistral, coiling to left), heavy, with flattened spire. Shell shoulders with small knobs. Colour: tan, shells under 18 cm have axial brown streaks.
