Environment:  benthic; marine
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: from East Africa, including Madagascar and the Red Sea, to eastern Polynesia; north to Japan and south to central Queensland.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Collected as food in some areas by coastal inhabitants (Ref. 348).
