comments Previous occurrence from map (Ref. 1394, p. 61) is confirmed by Ref. 1522. Sighted in Roxas, Taytay, El Nido in northern Palawan, northwest of Luzon, off western and northwestern Mindanao and Calayan Island in the Babuyan chain (Ref. 936), and in the northern Sierra Madre from Maconacon to Palanan, Isabela (Ref. 94963). Babuyan Islands (121°36’00", 19°18’00) was verified as a breeding ground for this species, wherein 367 sightings were documented, 69 individuals identified, and humpback whale songs were recorded. Threats are dynamite and cyanide fishing, pollution, and intrusion of foreign commercial fishing vessels (Ref. 77119, 77118). Known size is up to 1889.76 cm (Ref. 936).
