Northeast Pacific, Northern Atlantic, Arctic and the Mediterranean Sea: North Sea; Alaska, Canadian Arctic Archipelago, south to central California. Climate: polar to subtropical.
Found on rocks in shallow waters to 20 m depth. Typically associated with the solitary stalked tunicate, Styela gibbsii (Ref. 95344). Members of the order Neotaenioglossa are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults (Ref. 833).
