Supratidal (Ref. 97531). Semi-terrestrial; digs burrows in high-intertidal sediments in mangroves and estuaries (Ref. 104869). It can also be found in burrows with chimneys (Ref. 86356). Deposit-feeder (Ref. 111637). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
