Supratidal to intertidal (Ref. 97531). Inhabits burrows and holes on mud surface and occasionally climbs mangrove prop roots. Feeds on interstitial organisms on the mud (Ref. 104861). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
