Found on intertidal mudflats. Males wave their claws at approaching females and produce background waving when they attract females from a distance (Ref. 104851). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
