Supratidal to intertidal, euryhaline (Ref. 97531). Burrows in sediments of beaches, lagoons and estuaries. Usually found near mangrove trees (Ref. 104822). Feeds on organic matter (Ref. 111630). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
