Indo-West Pacific: from Madagascar and Sri Lanka to Melanesia; north to Japan and south to New Caledonia.
Reasonably common in shrimp trawls (Ref. 349). Found offshore (Ref. 799). Voracious carnivore (Ref. 108591). Members of the order Neogastropoda are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults (Ref. 833).
