Eastern Pacific: USA to Mexico.
It is found on soft bottoms in intertidal areas to a depth of 21 meters. It buries in the sand during the day, and come out to feed at night (Ref. 865). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
