Indo-West Pacific. Introduced in Australia and Eastern Pacific and Eastern Atlantic.
Maximum lengths of female (Ref. 114254) and male (Ref. 114256) are based on occurrence; to be replaced with a better reference. From sublittoral sediments (Ref. 1314). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
