Found in shallow water, with rocks covered by various types of macroalgae or sandy beds of Zostera marina. Omnivorous (Ref. 96308). Feeds on macroalgae, detritus and invertebrates (Ref. 95829). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
