It is found on sandy, cobble, shell debris and mussel beds substrates at depths of 0 to 200 m (Ref. 87801). On mixed bottoms of gravel and mud or sand (Ref. 106720). The spawn is composed of a single large spherical egg capsule wherein 6 to 12 embryos develop within and emerges as crawling juveniles. It is attached by the base to rocks or shells. Direct development (Ref. 87801).
