Indo-West Pacific: East Africa to Thailand.
Occurs in fresh water zone. Found on the mangroves Rhizophora and Avicennia as well as among oysters (Ref. 107330). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
