Minimum depth from Ref. 3435. Known from depths of 500 to 2000 m (Ref. 2588), and from depths of 201 to 500 (Ref. 3435). Members of the class Ascidiacea are hermaphroditic; both cross- and self-fertilization is typical. Life cycle: Eggs develop into lecithotrophic larva before metamorphosing into benthic adults (Ref. 833).
