Maximum carapace length: 1.75 cm (female) (Ref. 8). Inhabits mud or sandy-mud in estuaries, backwaters and near-shore waters to a depth of 45 m (Ref. 10). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
