Inhabits sandy-mud or mud bottoms at depths of 5 to 100 m, usually less than 90 m (Ref. 8). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
