It has carapace lengths of 3 to 8.6 cm (male), 2 to 7.4 (female), 4.7 to 8.2 cm and (ovigerous female) (Ref. 4). Prefers hard muddy substrates (Ref. 4). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
