Atlantic, Indo-Pacific and the Mediterranean.
Found in mud, in shells or under a stone near the low tide mark (Ref. 907), also found among algae and rocks (Ref. 966), at the low tide mark.. Feeds on polychaetes (Ref. 907, 971). Members of the phylum Nemertea are mostly gonochoric. Life cycle: Eggs hatch and develop into short-lived lecitotrophic larvae before metamorphosing into juveniles and further into adults (Ref. 833).
