Depth range is based on occurrence in the Philippines (Ref. 101147); to be replaced with a better reference. Attached via its byssus to the underside of coral slabs; also found among live coral and rubble on sandy bottoms (Ref. 101147). Members of the class Bivalvia are mostly gonochoric, some are protandric hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Embryos develop into free-swimming trocophore larvae, succeeded by the bivalve veliger, resembling a miniature clam (Ref. 833).
