Assumed maximum length from page 4 reference 897. Length: 0.01 to 15 cm (Ref. 897). Known from a littoral cave (Ref. 1306). Members of the class Calcarea are hermaphroditic. Life cycle: The zygote develops into either coeloblastula or amphiblastula larva (free-swimming) before settling down on a substrate where it grows into a young sponge (Ref. 833).
