Western Atlantic and Eastern Pacific: Chile, Argentina and Falkland Islands.
It is found in lower intertidal areas, in tide pools, rocky substrates and on fronds and holdfasts of brown algae (Ref. 87801). It is also found in forests of Macrocystis pyrifera (Ref. 92889). Members of the order Patellogastropoda are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults (Ref. 833).
