Occurs in shallow waters, <50 m depth, in areas of fine sand (Ref. 96391). Sessile (Ref. 3123). Epibenthic (Ref. 95730). This is a suspension feeder (Ref. 3477). Members of the phylum Bryozoa are hermaphroditic. Both fertilization and egg brooding may either be internal or external (Ref. 833).
