Found on coarse sandy bottoms composed of sand, algae, broken shells, coral, fine coral sand, globigerina, coral and sand at depths of 29 to 402 m (Refs. 89665, 89450) (Ref. 89665). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
