Found along the neritic zone, in reef areas (Ref. 97241). Commonly inhabits broad-mouthed cone shells (Ref. 8423). Carnivore (Ref. 108396). Observed to feed on tridacnid clams in aquaria by chipping valve ends (Ref. 108392). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
