Minimum depth from Ref. 3435. Occurs from 75 to 4636 m (Ref. 1747), from 50 to 4636 m, a eurybathic species. It reaches 10 cm in diameter (Ref. 2588). Members of the class Ascidiacea are hermaphroditic; both cross- and self-fertilization is typical. Life cycle: Eggs develop into lecithotrophic larva before metamorphosing into benthic adults (Ref. 833).
