Comments It was found in 3 sites along the southern coast of Sicily: Gala, Porto Empedolce, and Mazara del Vallo. The suspected vector of introduction is likely the dispersal of eggs and larvae from Turkey via surface water circulation in the Eastern and Central Mediterranean (Ref. 113843). There has also been Farfantepenaeus aztecus reported in the Tyrrhenian Sea, off Follonica Gulf and near Castiglione della Pescaia in 2014 (Ref. 113842).
