Definition of Term

stream oder
(english) A classification of stream complexity based on the number of tributaries. The smallest unbranched tributary in a watershed is called order 1; a stream formed by the confluence of two order 1 streams is called order 2; a stream formed by the confluence of two order 2 streams is called order 3; and so on.
