Short description Morphology

Skeleton are similar to those of Euphyllia glabrescens with corallites 20-40 millimeters in diameter. Polyps have tentacles with anchor-shaped ends similar to those of E. ancora. Tentacle tips form concentric circles that may be pale tan or greenish-brown in color.

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
