Found in coarse sand, mud (Ref. 75831) and among coral rubble on sandy bottoms (Ref. 101147). Byssally attached to rocks or corals (Ref. 101147). Members of the class Bivalvia are mostly gonochoric, some are protandric hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Embryos develop into free-swimming trocophore larvae, succeeded by the bivalve veliger, resembling a miniature clam (Ref. 833).
