Maximum mantle length: 45.0 cm, maximum weight: 4000 kg (in temperate waters); Maximum mantle length: 30.0 cm, maximum weight: 2000 g (in tropical seas). Common size: 15.0 to 25.0 cm (in West Saharan fisheries; Ref. 275). Maximum mantle length is 45cm in temperate waters, but only reaches a little more than 30cm in subtropical seas (Ref. 3722).
