It has lengths up to 20 cm, total body length; 15 and 18 cm, common length; 4.5 to 6 cm, carapace length (Ref. 4). Occurs at a depths of 250 to 750 m, but mostly between 300 and 450 m. Found on hard muddy substrates and possibly lives in burrows (Ref. 4). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
