Minimum depth from Ref. 81753. Inhabits hard bottoms (Ref. 88738) of sublittoral coral and rock reefs (Refs. 8423, 81753). Facultative associate of Pocillopora species. Uses shells of Drupa spp., Drupella spp., Conus spp., Mitra spp.; Latira spp., Cymatium spp., Coralliophila spp., and Cronia spp. (Ref. 88738). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
