Tentaculate-stage: from hatching until approximatley 4 mm in length; feeds using tentacles . Transition-stage: body length approximately 5 mm; begin to develop small oral lobes; tentacles resorbed into tentacle bulbs and gradually disappear; feeds by tentaculate and lobate mechanism. Lobate-stage: approximately 6 mm; tentacles completely reduced; auricles develop. Post-larvae: approximately 14 to 15 mm; lobes and auricles completely developed (Ref. 1106).
