Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 30 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea to Gulf of Aden.
Diagnosis:  Formation: massive, hemispherical. Valleys: short, with no more than 3 centers. Septa: in 2 orders, with tall teeth. Well formed columellae. Color: mottled or uniform brown, gray, green, or cream (Ref. 848).
Biology:  Occurs in most reef environments (Ref. 848).
