Max. size:  1 cm OT (male/unsexed)
Environment:  sessile; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific, Western Central Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
Diagnosis:  Thinly encrusting: 0.1 - 1 cm thickness; dark brown to black in color. Surface with low conules: 0.1 cm high, few mm apart; and oscules bearing a collar-like membrane: 1 - 4 cm wide. Very soft in consistency (Ref. 415).
Biology:  Maximum body Thickness: 1 cm (Ref. 415). Rare to common, on mangroves roots (Ref. 415).
