Remarks Inhabits extensive marshes and swamps, among emergent vegetation, snags, clinging to the undersides of vegetation mats. Omnivorous, mainly feeds on algae but also consumes dead leaves, insects, and other benthic coarse particular organic matter (Ref. 111183).
