Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: From Pakistan westwards to the Arabian Gulf extending to the east African coast to South Africa and to Madagascar and Mauritius. Introduced in the Mediterranean through the Suez Canal and established up to the northern Tyrrhenian Sea.
